Evite, the world’s leading digital invitation platform is seeking an Invitation Designer / Illustrator to join our dynamic and growing design team. Our ideal candidate cares deeply about designing beautiful and impactful digital invitations, is driven by an intense curiosity, and thrives in a highly iterative and collaborative environment. You have great taste, an eye for trends, and can design and illustrate in multiple styles. You’ll be responsible for taking your ideas from sketch form to highly refined animated and static invitations that will be used by millions of Evite hosts each year. The Invitation Designer role is based in Los Angeles, and reports to the Head of Design.

  • Proven ability to produce creative, beautiful, and performant digital invitations utilizing hand-lettering, color, fonts, texture, hand and digital illustration.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and exceed expectations.
  • Expert fluency with design and illustration tools and software to produce animated and static illustrations.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Design highly refined, consumer-centric digital invitations based upon strategy, trends, and customer insights.
  • Experience designing and illustrating for digital devices.
  • Obsess on the details and getting it right.
  • A self-starter who craves a fast-paced, high-integrity, low hand-holding environment (you’ll always be supported when needed)
  • Effectively communicate your ideas and design rationale, both verbally and visually.
  • A natural collaborator who’s comfortable both giving and receiving constructive design feedback.
  • Apply industry knowledge, customer-insights, data and analytics, and current and emerging trends to inform decisions.
  • Inspire customers and teammates by consistently raising the design bar.
  • Expert level knowledge of design software and animation tools and techniques - Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects.
  • Fluency in a variety of illustration styles and techniques. Fluency in typography, photography, and GIF animation. Fluency in graphic design principals.
  • Familiarity with working in a Content Management System (CMS) is a plus.
  • BFA/BA in Illustration or Graphic Design, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years professional illustration/design experience.
