Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst

Education  :  Bachelors in STEM discipline preferred (can be substituted with relevant work experience)
Level           :  4+ yrs of querying experience AND at least 2 years of experience in an internet company.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly reporting outputs for Finance and business operations.
• Own business and revenue forecasting and reporting.
• Respond to ad-hoc requests.
• Possess a deep understanding of all internal information systems, data warehouses, backends and the relationships between these.

Minimum Skills

• Data design and modeling.
• Strong SQL competence for querying large data sets
  • Fluency in standard SQL vocabulary : Primary key, Foreign key, Index, Unions, Case etc
  • Inner, outer, left and right Joins (You know how to avoid cartesian product)
  • Scalar & Aggregate functions.
  • Sub queries
  • Data binning and distribution
• Skilled at data wrangling tasks including classifying, cleaning, normalizing etc.
• UNIX shell scripting for automation (preferred)
• Excel skills - advanced
  • (v/h) lookups
  • pivot tables
  • Advanced formulae (examples : sumifs,match,index,etc,concat)
  • VBA for automation
• Understanding and application of the following on large granular data sets.
  • Set Theorem & Boolean Logic
  • Permutations
  • Probability & Bayes Theorem (nice to have!)

• You listen to business users and want to solve for complex questions and problems they face.
• You are self motivated and have the drive and confidence to thrive in an unstructured environment (think startup).
• You are customer centric and are therefore platform agnostic; you do what it takes to collect the raw data you need.
